2011 Kentucky Derby Horses: Toby's Corner out of Derby, Derby Kitten Is in

2011 Kentucky Derby Horses Toby's Corner Withdraws From Tournament

One of the top Kentucky Derby favorite horses, Uncle Mo and his owners must be breathing a sigh of relief right now as Toby's Corner, who upset Mo in the Wood Memorial has been forced to withdraw from this weekend's derby.

After Toby's Corner trainer Graham Motion reportedly noticed he was off in his left leg on Monday, the Colts was sent away for examination.  However, the horse never made it back to Churchill Downs on Tuesday and there were no additional details of the withdrawal.

Derby Kitten will step in with 35/1 odds to win the Run for the Roses.

The loss of Toby's Corner took away a possible darkhorse candidate to win the Derby, and a contender to possible outrace Uncle Mo once again.  Toby's Corner had a 4-0-2 record in six starts and has earned $722,240, per ESPN.
