2012 NFL Mock Draft: Todd McShay Right About Jared Crick to Patriots at 31?

2012 NFL Mock Draft Todd McShay Sends Jared Crick to Patriots at 31

Bill Belichick is amazing at manuvering his team on draft day.

The Patriots need help across the defensive line, and although Vince Wilfork is still one of the best nose tackles in the NFL, it won't be a bad idea to look for his replacement.

Tom Brady is Tom Brady, and the Patriots will score their points in 2011.

McShay's Pick: Jared Crick, DT, Nebraska

McShay said this to say about his selection:

Crick is a limited athlete but has the size, strength and toughness to become a starting 5-technique in a base 3-4 front.

Good Fit or Bad Fit?

I'd still like to see the Patriots add an outside edge rusher for their 3-4 defense, something they didn't address in the 2011 draft, but Crick is definitiely the hard-working type of player New England loves.

Crick's 2011 Projection

His numbers didn't drop without Ndamukong Suh, so you know Crick can still produce when he's one of the main focuses of the opposing offensive line. Nebraska's defensive front should again be one of the best of the country next season, and Crick's leading the way.
