2011 NFL Mock Draft: Will Tennessee Strike It Rich With Nick Fairley?

2011 NFL Mock Draft Gives Titans BCS Championship Hero Nick Fairley With Eighth Pick

Tennessee had an eventful 2010 season, though it wasn?t exactly a positive year. Vince Young and Jeff Fisher got into it throughout the year, which led to Young being benched and subsequently released. Fisher and the team parted ways in late-January.

Times have changed in the Music City, and this year will be the beginning of a new era in Titans football. The first piece that will be added to the puzzle will be Nick Fairley from Auburn.

While Fairley is no longer the top 3 pick that most analysts had him pegged as after the BCS Championship game, the potential to be a dominant defensive tackle is still in there.

He reminds me of former Titan, current Washington Redskin Albert Haynesworth in a lot of ways. You can see the reason that scouts love him on the tape, but his work ethic and attitude are question marks with him.

Add to that the fact that Fairley only had one productive season in college and there should be cause for concern. But to be able to add a potentially dominant defensive tackle is too good to pass up with this pick.
