The Underwear Battle (URDB Feat of the Week)

Welcome to 'Feat of the Week,' in which our pals over at the Universal Record Database (where everyone can set a world record) hand-select one awesome world record to highlight.

It all started, as many madcap schemes do, with a radio DJ and a willingness to get naked. A year ago, multiple URDB record holder Todd DeFazio of Pittsburgh's Star 100.7 FM set the benchmark for Most Pairs of Underwear Put On In 30 Seconds at seven pairs.

Fellow URDB-er Sean Kelley immediately took up the challenge. "I just want you to know," he commented, "this won't stand ... I am currently in training to beat your record!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Two weeks later, Sean made good on his word, submitting a video that showed him shimmying into nine pairs of undies.

Depantsing DeFazio upped the ante using a contentious new method of y-front hoisting: he piled the pairs around his ankles, stepped into the leg holes and then started the clock. This underhanded approach to his underthings resulted in a 12-pair victory.

Then came the ladies. Heather Leonard equaled DeFazio's dozen drawers by pioneering a patented panty grid. Her undies were laid out on the floor in neat rows, allowing her to step into each pair and pull them up while moving towards the next.

The development of Pantygrid -- trademark pending -- then allowed the current record holder, Olivia Miller, to swoop in and triumph with an unthinkable 15 pairs of underwear in 30 seconds. Given the possible health consequences, such as atomic wedgies, loss of circulation to the thighs and waistband rash, Olivia has more than earned her title of Underpants Queen.

Think you have what it takes to beat the reigning Underpants Queen? Head on over to URDB and earn a world record.

If you'll be in New York City area on Thursday, January 27th, URDB is hosting the 20th edition of its legendary World Record Appreciation Society event at Littlefield in Brooklyn. Check it out for live world records and massive fun.
