ABC Renews 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Modern Family,' 'Castle' and Three More

ABC is giving six of its shows an early vote of confidence: The network announced at its TCA press conference this morning that several of its veteran series will be back next season.

Among the series getting early renewals are 'Grey's Anatomy' (TV's No. 1 drama) and sister series 'Private Practice,' which will return for their eighth and fifth seasons, respectively, while 'Castle' gets a fourth.

The network also picked up three of its half-hour Wednesday night comedies for third seasons: 'Modern Family' (TV's No. 1 comedy), 'Cougar Town' and 'The Middle.' Missing from that bunch: the struggling freshman series 'Better With You.'
