Ed Reed: Reed Expects To Play Against Chiefs, Brother Remains Missing
The star Ravens safety, recently chosen to his seventh Pro Bowl, received some disturbing news this weekend when he got word that his 29-year-old brother, Brian, reportedly dove into the Mississippi River in order to avoid police.
According to a report by ESPN: "Officers from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office had been pursuing Brian Reed in St. Rose, La., on Friday, WWLTV.com in New Orleans reported. The man was seen jumping into the river at about 10 a.m."
Authorities called off the search for Brian Reed on Saturday, per ESPN. Despite the news that his brother remains missing, Ed Reed has chosen to keep on playing football.
ESPN's Rachel Nichols has reported that Reed is traveling with the Ravens to Kansas City for Sunday's Wild Card game. Reed also told Nichols he plans to be on the field Sunday against Kansas City.
"My brother loved football," Reed told Nichols. "He would want me to play."
According to the Baltimore Sun: "Police say that Brian Reed, of St. Rose, La., was trying to elude officers who stopped what they thought was a stolen car. His mother told reporters Friday that Brian has a history of drug and alcohol problems."
