New England Patriots: Welker and Light Added To AFC Pro Bowl Roster

NOTE: This article was first seen at PatriotsPlus.net

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson and Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jake Long both will not participate in the NFL Pro Bowl in January. With both players declining participation, two roster spots opened.

New England Patriots' wide receiver Wes Welker will be replacing Johnson on the AFC squad while offensive tackle Matt Light will be replacing Long.

Welker, who is recovering from a torn ACL and MCL, has had a pretty decent season after rehabbing. He has snagged 86 passes for 848 yards and seven touchdowns.

Light, on the other hand, has been apart of a very solid offensive line for New England. The team has only allowed opponents to sack quarterback Tom Brady 25 times.

The Pro Bowl will be held on January 30 in Hawaii.
