Every so often, a team comes along that changes their sport forever.
They're the creators of new offenses and defenses, tweaking, shaping and manipulating tactics of the past, trying things other teams haven't or simply weren't able to for lack of talent.
They redefine the boundaries of what's possible, and in some instances, what's acceptable by the rules of the game, or even by the rules of society.
Truly, it takes a lot to be influential in sports, but as the following 50 teams show you, the world of sports is ever-changing, constantly evolving and setting new standards.
The following is the Top 50 Most Influential Teams of All Time.

English amateur Tom Lewis has impressed the field and the fans, all the while climbing up the leaderboard.
Climbing high enough to get himself a share of the lead in fact.
Lewis finished round one at five under par 70 and tied for the lead with professional golfer Thomas Bjorn.
Keep in mind Lewis is an amateur, which means that even if he does win the Open he won?t be able to take any money.
If I were him I would be making the push to go pro as soon as possible.
Yahoo! Sport UK & Ireland has more on Lewis? first round.
The 20-year-old Lewis, who earned a place in the tournament by winning the Local Final Qualifying event at nearby Royal Cinque Ports, scrambled his way to three under par after eight holes thanks to an unerring putting stroke which saw him save every par and grab every opportunity to make a birdie.
Two bogeys in three holes from the 11th appeared to herald a return to reality for Lewis - who was playing alongside five-times champion Tom Watson, the golf legend his father had named him after - but the Welwyn Garden City player then defied expectations with four consecutive birdies from the 14th to get him to five under par.
I?m not sure if Lewis has what it takes to maintain the tie at No. 1, or even hold a lead, especially with a very talented field preparing for round two. As of right now he hasn?t given us any reason to doubt him though.
It would be an incredible story for an amateur to take home the Claret Jug.

Hello Bleachers, and welcome to another edition of My Friday Night Smackdown!
Before I begin let's recap last week's events.
The Smackdown MITB field has been set. The participants are Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Justin Gabriel, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Kane and Sin Cara.
This week, the Miz received two notes. The first note reads:
"Miz if you would worry about winning matches more than you worry about your ego you might actually become a Hall of Famer one day. Your former student Alex Riley is moving on with his career and you are stuck in a losing street. I am beginning to lose hope for you Miz."
There is an "O" on the back of the note.
After the Sin Cara vs. Tyson Kidd match, Miz comes down to the ring and issues an open challenge to prove the note wrong. He challenges any superstar in the back to come down to the ring and take him on.
Randy Orton answers The Miz's challenge and comes to the ring. Miz seemed to be expecting a lesser opponent as he wants nothing to do with Randy and runs out of the ring. Teddy Long interrupted Miz's "shortcut" tactics and made the match a no count-out match. Orton hits a RKO on Miz on the ramp, and Long makes the match a Falls Count Anywhere match. Orton pins Miz for the victory.
Miz gets up and stumbles to the back after losing for another week.
Miz then goes to his locker room where he finds another note. This time it reads:
"So you ask for a fight and then you chicken out of it? What happened to the kid that used to have no-quit attitude and would take on all challengers? Since you lost your WWE Championship you have been reduced to your old talk show host days status. Talk shows are nice kid but you better back your mouth up in the ring."
On the back of the note is the letter "S."

Former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis has been able to do something Tiki Barber was never able to do as a member of the media?keep his peers' respect.
When Bettis says he's disappointed in James Harrison, that carries some weight to it. And disappointed, Bettis is.
?It?s disappointing to hear some of the comments he made about his teammates because this is a team game,? Bettis said on NFL Network. ?It?s not an offense against defense type situation. It?s a team and you?ve got to go out there and compete as a team.?
And that's putting it mildly. Unfortunately it would be hypocritical for a player to bash Harrison openly for what he said, instead the Steelers organization and/or the NFL should sit him down for at least four games.
