LOS ANGELES -- Amar'e Stoudemire obviously has a vested interest in how the whole Carmelo Anthony situation ends up playing out before next week's trade deadline. He has previously declined comment for the most part on the topic, but opened up on it during his time with the media as part of the All-Star festivities on Friday.
"'Melo's obviously one of the top players in the league, and we're great friends," Stoudemire said. "Any time friends team up, it's always fun. But you never know what may happen."
Stoudemire went on to say he hasn't been involved in any recruiting of Anthony, and talked about how his teammates who are being talked about as potentially being traded can use the experience as a positive if in fact a deal doesn't happen this season.
With Friday's reports of both the Knicks and the Nets making substantial offers for Anthony, however, at this point it's looking more and more likely that something will go down -- and soon.
Video of Stoudemire's thoughts on the matter can be seen in the clip below.
