Rob Shuter talks 'Glee' on 'Today'AOL's Rob Shuter stopped by the fourth hour of 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) to kick around the news that 'Glee' actor Chord Overstreet will not be returning to the show. According to Shuter, that may be just the beginning of the cast overhaul: 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy doesn't want his high school suspended in time with kids who never graduate, a la '90210,' and Overstreet's character Sam's departure is a reflection of that.

"He was in the season last year, he was terrific, everybody loved him," said Shuter. Nevertheless, Overstreet is gone, and there has been news that Murphy will push his other stars out when they graduate. "He said that these kids shouldn't be at school for ten years, that he wants them to graduate, he wants new cast, he wants fresh blood," said Shuter.
