If the WWE is lacking one aspect of the wrestling game more than the rest, it?s the presence of true heels in the sport.
With the possible departure of CM Punk and no immediate plans to turn any great faces heel, the WWE is awaiting the return of John Morrison. The WWE has tried to use several stars as heels in Morrison's absence, but nothing has caught traction with the fans of the sport.
Originally thought to miss only four-to-six weeks with neck surgery, Morrison has been out since the end of April and it looks like it will be a long time before we see him again.
Wrestle Zone is reporting:
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE Raw star John Morrison's recovery from neck surgery is taking place a bit slower than originally thought, and the expectation is that he will not be returning to action until sometime around September or October of this year.
With the previous diagnosis of four-to-six weeks by WWE doctors, there are no certainties with this timetable. The doctors have shown that they don?t know how to analyze this injury, and it appears it was much more serious than initially thought.
Morrison is one of the best heels in the game because he has enough charisma to be a face, but uses that swagger against the fans. Morrison isn?t the greatest on the mic, but his abilities in the ring and his willingness to be the bad guy has made him a great heel.
The WWE needs another heel that can get a reaction from the crowd, and if CM Punk does end up leaving the company, the WWE will have to do something drastic. Maybe a heel turn from John Cena?
