Last year, the Browns passed on a quarterback in the first two rounds to select Colt McCoy out of Texas in the 3rd. McCoy is undersized for a quarterback prospect coming into the league and was viewed as Jeff Garcia plus coming into the league.
This past season, he showed that ability to keep his team in games with smart passing, accurate short throws, and mobility outside the pocket. The Browns look like they've seen enough to not be interested in this year's crop of potential 1st round quarterbacks.
As of now, Brian Robiskie and Mohammed Massaquoi are the team's top two receivers on offense, with Josh Cribbs getting a lot of time in the slot. And as of now, receiver isn't quite an area of strength. But moving Robiskie to a number two receiver, Massaquoi to the slot, and Cribbs to the #4 and wildcat role could make them all more comfortable in the league.
Julio Jones can be this team's number one receiver for the long haul as they nearly complete this offense around Colt McCoy, and even though guys like Da'Quan Bowers, Nick Fairley or Prince Amukamara could help that struggling defense, giving McCoy and this offense an elite level spells good things for the future of the Cleveland Browns.
