Every year, the Wild go all out to celebrate their fans at the end of the season. The very popular "Jerseys off Our Backs" event is probably the most well-known. This year is no different, and being Year Ten, there will be even more to it than normal. They should probably throw in some refunds, but hey, you take what you can get, right?
After the losing streak lately, I’ll hit you with all the details, and some fun with what's going on.
The team will honor fans for their continued support of the Wild as part of the team's final three home games of the 2010-11 regular season. Fans attending the Wild games on Thursday, March 31, Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 10 will receive giveaways as they enter Xcel Energy Center, along with the opportunity to register for more prizes throughout the games. The following events and promotions will take place during the Fan Celebration Activities at Xcel Energy Center:
Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m. vs. Edmonton Oilers

Saturday, April 2 at 1 p.m. vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
All fans will receive a scratch-off card for the chance to win great prizes including:
Team autographed sticks and jerseys
Complete set of Top 10 Moments puck series
Complete set of Year Ten All-Time Team bobblehead series

Sunday, April 10 at 5 p.m. vs. Dallas Stars
All fans will receive a Year Ten commemorative print
OK, now let's have some fun with this. First off, the jersey thing is still pretty cool, and who doesn't want a puck with Bruno's big goal on it? Looks to me that March 31st is the night to be there.
Saturday is a whole different animal. First, it's against the Lightning, and there is no mention of a new hot dog. Very disappointing. This was the perfect chance to really shake things up at the X. With things going the way they are, a new hot dog would have been a crucial first step. Guess the Wild's loyalty is blinding them on this one.
As for the prizes, hope for the Swarm ticket. This is, by far, one of the coolest things I have ever watched. Seriously, if you don't win one, buy a ticket. You won't be sorry. As a matter of fact, the Swarm plays immediately following the Wild on Saturday, so you should buy a ticket and stick around.
Finally, on April 10th, the misery comes to an end. The last game of the season is always bittersweet, as the pain might end, but so does live hockey. And that sucks. Your benefit for coming is a commemorative Year Ten print. No word yet on if it a picture of the team, an action shot, or just a picture of a train derailment that they blew up and put the Year Ten mark on.
In all seriousness, be there for the fan celebrations. The Wild truly do appreciate their fans' support, and they want to show it. You just never know what you're going to get if you go, and it is still hockey. If you don't go, don't whine to me about no hockey until October. This is your final chance, folks.
