2011 NFL Mock Draft: Which OLB Best Fits the Kansas City Chiefs Needs?

Kansas City Chiefs 3-4 Lands Future Star In 2011 NFL Mock Draft

If they hope to take the next step and become a real legitimate Super Bowl threat, the Kansas City Chiefs have two holes to fill this offseason: another wide receiver and an upgrade at outside linebacker.

Mike Vrabel started to show signs of slowing down in 2010 and Romeo Crennel needs to find his successor.

They expected Akeem Ayers to be on the board and was a great fit but he surprisingly comes off the board a bit early. But another surprise--Aldon  Smith slipping past Jacksonville and a few other clubs--balances that out.

Smith has limited experience in the 3-4 but many scouts see him as a perfect fit for the the 3-4 outside backer spot. He's undersized as an end, but will get bigger and is very athletic and is very strong.

Assuming Vrabel is back in 2011, they can easy Smith onto the field and he'll be a great tutor for the rookie.

Five years from now, Crennel's former boss, Bill Belichick, may regret passing on Smith at the 17th spot.
