NBA Rumors: Cleveland Cavaliers Looking to Make Blockbuster Draft Deal?

NBA Rumors, Cleveland Cavaliers Cooking Up A Trade With The Detroit Pistons And Minnesota Timberwolves

It looks like Dan Gilbert means business.

According to Chris Broussard, the Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to move up to the second overall pick.  One would only guess they're trying to add not only Kyrie Irving to their roster, but Derrick Williams as well.

Broussard tweeted the following this afternoon:

Cavs, Pistons, Twolves discussing 3-team trade that would give Cavs 1st & 2nd picks, sources say...Cavs absorb Rip Hamilton into 14.6 mill trade exception & get Det's 8th pick. Cavs send 4th & 8th picks to Minny for 2nd pick...Cavs would then draft Kyrie No. 1 and Derrick Williams No. 2. Nothing imminent but trade (is) being discussed by the teams.

What a surprise, David Kahn wants to trade.

The Cavaliers would grab the two most talented players by far in a draft where there is a limited amount of talent.

Cleveland would feature a roster with Irving, Williams, J.J. Hickson, Antwan Jamison, Baron Davis, Rip Hamilton, Anderson Varejao, Daniel Gibson, and Christian Eyenga.  Not too bad.

If Eyenga can develop into a starting caliber player, the Cavs would then have four young talented players in Irving, Williams, Hickson, and Eyenga that could lead them back to being a regular in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
