Metrodome Roof Collapse Caught on Video (The One)

Wintertime Minnesota isn't exactly the ideal location for your football stadium, so the Minnesota Vikings make their field more hospitable with an inflatable teflon roof to keep the snow out.

Over the years it's been prone to deflation or tearing in extreme winter weather, but at 5 AM on Sunday December 12, after getting seventeen inches of snow in a 24-hour period, the roof actually collapsed.

This happened once before in 1983 and was fixed after four days, so it's not the end of the world for the Metrodome or the Vikings (they'll be playing home games in Detroit for the time being), but the footage still looks like it's straight out of an Independence Day-status apocalypse movie.
