New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens

Why New Orleans Could Win

The Saints have won their last five games and are one of the hottest teams in the NFL. After a rocky start, Drew Brees has passed for at least 300 yards in five of his last six games and the offense is finally firing on all cylinders. A New Orleans win coupled with an Atlanta loss would tie the two teams atop the NFC South, making this a very important game. Baltimore's offense has underachieved all season, and may not be able to keep pace with NO's high-octane offense. The Saints secondary has been underrated all season long, currently ranking fifth in passing defense.

Why Baltimore Could Win

While the Saints secondary has been much improved, they are still very vulnerable against the run. If Ray Rice can regain last season's form, he could be in for a big game. At 5'8 212, Rice has great balance and a low center of gravity, making him one of the most difficult players to tackle in the league. Baltimore will need to pound the run and apply pressure on Drew Brees if they hope to win on Sunday.

Prediction:

This is a classic battle of offense versus defense with heavy playoff ramifications. Baltimore could tie the Steelers atop the AFC North standings with a win here coupled with a Pittsburgh loss against the Jets. New Orleans is the hotter team right now, but Baltimore still has more talent. In a close game, I like the home team to triumph. Final Score: 24-20 Baltimore.
