Rajon Rondo has a sprained ankle that will sideline him for at least two weeks, team president Danny Ainge told WEEI radio Thursday.
Rondo, who has helped the Celtics become one of the best teams in the NBA so far this season, sustained the injury during last night's 118-116 win over the Knicks.
Even after turning his ankle, the gritty guard remained in the game and did his best to handle the ball for the Celtics.
He finished with 10 points and just three assists in 34 minutes Wednesday.
The all-star guard has had his share of injuries already this season, with foot and hamstring problems causing him to miss time.
Despite being less than 100 percent, he is currently leading the NBA with 13.8 assists per game.
Although the timetable currently stands at two weeks, don't be surprised if we don't see him back until mid-January.
It will be interesting to see how the mighty C's fare without one of the best young point guards in the NBA.
