Cristiano Ronaldo Is Real Madrid's Biggest Star, But Will Los Blancos Get Back to the Top?
For a proud club like Real Madrid, recent results are unacceptable.
Los Blancos have 31 La Liga crowns to their name, yet haven't won one since 2008. Real Madrid hasn't won the Champions League since 2002, adding insult to injury.
There was a victory over Barcelona in this year's Copa Del Rey, which was a big step forward, but on the biggest stages in football, Los Blancos fell short. With all of the talent that is on the roster, you'd think that there would be better results.
Not all of this is on the talent, but the management, which has squandered the immense offensive depth on the roster. Throw in injuries to Kaka, and you can see how Real Madrid has fallen short of expectations.
However, if Los Blancos are going to rebound and unseat Barcelona atop the league, it has to start utilizing the goal scorers on the depth chart.
Defense helps win championships, but you can't sacrifice offense to try and be a defensive powerhouse, especially when you have scorers all over the lineup card.

Guys like Ronaldo and Kaka need to be set free and allowed to use their creativity to put the ball in the back of the net. When you can put pressure on an opposing team's defense, it opens up so many more opportunities on both ends of the pitch.
Ronaldo is the type of player that can lead a club to greatness, now Los Blancos need to be set free by their manager. Then, and only then, will they start to experience the success they're used to.
So far, Real Madrid has been hesitant to do just that, and it has shown as Barcelona, a team that knows how to get out and run, has risen to the top of the world, leaving Los Blancos in the dust.
